A Note From Our Founders

Hey, Friends,

What a difference a month makes. Just a few weeks ago we had a baby shower in our Main Street office. All our employees gathered to celebrate life and each other and our collective hope for the future. It was so inspiring to see our company together, smiling, laughing, and becoming a family. Now, COVID-19 has taken root in communities across the planet, most of our staff is working from home, and we honestly don’t know when we’ll all be able to gather together again.

We want to, as a company, express our gratitude to those brave souls who are on the front lines of this pandemic. From teachers, health care professionals, and first responders to government employees and grocers; your grace, bravery, and commitment to serving our communities is inspiring. Thank you for being strong and doing what must be done while so many of us are scared and unsure.

We also want to acknowledge the millions of people around the world who are small business owners, contract workers, members of the service industry, or simply caught in the middle of an unfolding crisis and losing their jobs as tough choices are made. We need to decide as a people what we can do to care for you, especially because curbing the spread of this virus requires you to make sacrifices for the greater good. Stay strong. Help is coming.

Green Goo is in a unique position in that most of our employees can work from home; our products have always been made in clean, manufacturing facilities; and most of our staff is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Our early risk was minimized. Regardless of that fact, we took a forward-thinking approach to the coronavirus and started putting systems in place and working with our partners to make a transition to the safest work conditions possible, quickly and seamlessly.

To that end, we increased cleaning regimens, switched meetings from in-person to phone or digital gatherings, provided resources for employees to create home offices, and have been in regular conversation with our staff about best practices as they unfold from the CDC, as well as state and local government.

We are also changing the focus of our conversations with all of you from general skin and personal care to the things we do that we know can help, like castile soap, First Aid, and Free To Breathe. We will be working to provide information and a forum for the community to offer each other tips and tricks as we tackle the challenges of social distancing, 24-hour childcare, and decreased opportunities to gather the basic necessities we have come to rely on in our homes.

In times like these, we must come together to lift each other up. That’s what we will do. There is no place in our vision for the future for finger pointing, gallows humor, or complacency. We must each act now and share our expertise, wisdom, and leadership in ways both large and small to help the village weather this storm.

We can do this. It will be difficult, but we can make it better - together. We look forward to working together with each and all of you to make the best of these challenging times. In the meantime: wash your hands, take care of yourselves, and be good to each other.

Yours,

Jodi, Jennifer, and Kathy Scott
